Why don’t the witnes$$es’s want to talk

Looks Like Vick may not be held accountable for this latest incident.

The Virginia Beach police say they are done with Michael Vick, and, maybe, done with the case that might have cost Vick his second chance in the NFL.

Police said reluctant witnesses and an uncooperative shooting victim have convinced the prosecutor’s office not to press charges against the shooter – even though they know who the shooter is.

It wasn’t Vick, according to a police statement.

It happened about 2 a.m. on June 25 near a club in Vick’s old stomping grounds, where Vick was attending a 30th birthday party thrown in his honor. And the victim, identified by Vick’s lawyer as Quanis Phillips, was part of the Vick posse convicted of dogfighting and related charges in 2007. Vick spent 18 months in prison as a result of those charges.

It seems a little strange that even the victim doesn’t want to cooperate and the police seem very happy to close this case. What really happened?

Most police departments wont even let a parking ticket go, but the Virginia Beech police seem happy to give-up on a shooting? This makes no sense unless someone with a lot of money wants this whole thing to go away and some powerful people are willing to help them do it.

It is starting to seem like someone really wants Vick to keep making money.

people aren’t talking about Vick, any other player involved in a shooting would be a constant topic of conversation on sports talk but not Vick.

I hope the Eagles cut him but it is not looking to likely at this point.

  3. JR: Apologies for missing your comment last week:

Sometimes science is going with what you have not with what you want to have.

That sounds rather religious to me. Nice!

I totally forgot about that comment, I must have been in a funk about this paper I am trying to get written. Sometimes trying to control for all confounding variables can become a confounding variable in itself. At least I think that is what I was trying to say.

so what do you think of ‘lebron going to Miami? I think

  5. I like what Bill Simmons wrote about LBJ–he’s impressive, like Dr. J was. Of course, Julius needed Moses Malone to win a ring. I think Lebron is a good #2, when it comes to winning. He needs to hitch his wagon to a #1. Like Patrick Ewing never had. Living behind enemy lines in Yankee country, it’s so easy to retort to anything they throw at me with a simple, “ok let’s talk about basketball and the Knicks, as well …” and hush them up real quick.

he has a couple number ones around him now. I am not a big basketball fan but I might follow it next year just to see if the Heat can pull it off. Anything less than a championship will be considered a failure. Go heat
